About This Place

Nestled in the heart of downtown Seattle, Okinawa Teriyaki offers an authentic Japanese dining experience that sets itself apart with generous portions, bold flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere. Specializing in classic Japanese fare, this restaurant is a go-to destination for lovers of savory teriyaki and hearty ramen bowls alike.

The menu is a vibrant showcase of Japanese comfort food favorites. Whether you crave the perfectly glazed Chicken Teriyaki or the crispy satisfaction of Gyoza, Okinawa Teriyaki consistently delivers with dishes that burst with flavor and texture. For those wanting a variety on one plate, the Chicken Beef Combo with Fried Rice or the Yakisoa & Katsu Combination make for satisfying meals that are both filling and delicious. The Spicy Chicken Katsu and Spicy Pork Teriyaki pack a punch for fans of heat, while the delicate, crispy Shrimp Tempura Bowl brings an elegant touch to your meal.

Vegetarian and tofu options are thoughtfully crafted, with standouts like Tofu Yakisoba, Teppanyaki Tofu, and Hot & Spicy Tofu accompanied by fresh salad or vegetables, catering nicely to plant-based diners without sacrificing flavor or authenticity.

If ramen is what you seek, Okinawa Teriyaki’s kitchen does not disappoint. From the rich, comforting Pork Ramen to the lighter yet flavorful Vegetarian Ramen, each bowl is a warm, satisfying embrace of umami goodness. The Katsu Ramen offers a perfect harmony of crispy textures and savory broth, making it a worthy indulgence.

Customers repeatedly praise the combination of quality and value here. Theresa Calhoun raved about the generous portions and affordable pricing, emphasizing its clean and friendly environment. Em V lovingly described the spicy chicken and gyoza combo as “delicious” and highlighted the staff’s efficiency, even during peak lunch hours. Daniel Ecklor appreciated how Okinawa Teriyaki nails the essentials—teriyaki sauce that’s neither too sweet nor skimped on, served with the right char on the chicken that never feels mass-produced.

The dining atmosphere balances bustling energy with welcoming comfort. Though situated downtown—where parking can be a challenge—guests find the experience well worth the effort. Lincoln noted the lively ambiance paired with great service made for an enjoyable meal, even requesting the menu midway because the food was so irresistible.

Families and solo diners alike will find the staff proficient and warm, ensuring each visit feels personally attended to despite the steady stream of customers. Armond Aucoin reflects this sentiment perfectly, sharing how “some of the best food” he’s had in Seattle came with both amazing flavors and genuinely friendly staff.

For those seeking authentic Japanese eats that combine bold taste, portion generosity, and approachable prices right in the heart of Seattle, Okinawa Teriyaki is a compelling choice. From the first savory bite of teriyaki to the last spoonful of ramen broth, this spot invites you to savor every moment of your meal with genuine flavor and care.

The food was excellent. I ordered the chicken bowl and my husband order the pork teriyaki. The portions were generous and the prices low. It's was clean with friendly customer service. Be prepared to pay an arm and your first born for parking.

Wonderful sushi, takoyaki, and other items. The service was great. The atmosphere was pretty loud but comfortable. Halfway through eating I requested a menu again as the food was that good!

Probably one of my favorite teriyaki restaurants in Seattle! It does get busy during the lunch hour, but the staff is great at getting orders out quickly so you don’t have to wait too long. The owners are really nice too. My go-to order is the spicy chicken and gyoza combo…it’s delicious and the salad is a great complement to the meal. Parking can be a bit difficult since it’s in downtown and all street parking, but despite that, I highly recommend this place!!! Definitely give them a try!!!

Okinawa is new to me somehow despite working within a few blocks for 4 years now, but a treat on occasion. The teriyaki is respectable and they serve up these dishes with a machine like efficiency and friendly but brisk service. They do the basics right, which is what you hope for in a teriyaki joint. I want some char on the chicken and the sauce not overly sweet and starved, and theirs hits the spot. These are downtown teriyaki prices and tip expectations, so it’s $22 per person total for lunch which is crazy but hey I’m happy to support local when I can afford it. Chicken and gyoza combo best bang for my buck so far.

Delicious! The food all tasted fresh. I ate in the restaurant during lunch rush hour and I ordered easily despite a line and food came out quickly. Well plated and good value. I admittedly came because Kenji reviewed it on IG, and it didn't disappoint. Picture is spicy chicken and gyoza combo plate plus 1 eggroll

Okinawa Teriyaki is one of my favorite weekday lunch spots in downtown. The staff is always friendly and the food is consistently delicious. My go-to is the chicken and gyoza meal, which comes with rice and salad. The portions are large enough to split into multiple meals. If you’re visiting Seattle or work nearby, Okinawa is worth a visit!
